One of the most delightful aspects of being human is the ability to be able to make choices for our selves.
Free will. Choice. Freedom. These are revered as sacred rights of our humanity!
However, at times owning this right can feel more burdensome than helpful.
Choice can lend itself to anxiety and indecision.
We start to question our own intuitive and individual life forces. Intuition is left at the door for ration and reason to enter.
Even in our parent’s best efforts, some of us were taught that perseverance and marching on (at all costs) were admirable qualities. In a nutshell we refined our ability to cut our true selves off. Naturally there are times when we need to push on, but so often driving hard is about historic patterns, feelings of guilt, and sneaky feelings of inadequacy.
At what cost have we pushed on?
As we know there is no instruction manual for life, we live in a world of nuances and hidden metaphors. I believe there is a clear path IF we look.
No map or manual, but indeed a path.
One of these nuances that I believe to be helpful in times gridlock is to ask, “Is this flow or is this fight?”.
Logic must be abandoned to find this path.
When there is flow there is an underlying ease of effort. Not effortless at all, but an ease with effort.
Things line up.
We meet the right people.
We smile. We feel excitement. Natural motivation reigns.
Something just feels right!
THIS if flow. This is the path.
So, when paralyzed by indecision ask gently: "Am I flowing or am I fighting?”
The answer may be surprising!
